Flower arrangements are perfect for any special occasion or just for sprucing up different rooms in your home. This article will briefly outline a step-by-step guide to making a flower arrangement.
What You Need
Make sure you have a pair of scissors, a sharp knife (like a paring knife), and a clean vase. Vases can be expensive, so you can reuse other glasses in your home. The thrift store and flea market are great spots for finding beautiful and inexpensive crystal vases.
Prep
To prepare, fill the flower vase with warm water and flower food. This food often comes with the flowers you purchase from the store. Stand the flowers next to the vase to know where to cut the stems, and use the scissors to trim them. Use the knife to cut away excess leaves that fall below the waterline.
Arrange
Place in foliage first. You want the leaves about 1/3 of the way above the rim. Then place in flowers with smaller heads. Finish with larger-headed flowers. Make sure to take a step back from time to time to make sure everything’s in balance. Criss-cross the stems as you place the flowers in to give yourself enough room and the stems space to drink.
